The Liverpool Municipal Authority (LMA) was incorporated November 7, 1962 in compliance with the requirements of the Act of May 2, 1945, P.L. 382, as amended, known as “Municipality Authorities Act of 1945”. The term of existence of the LMA shall end on June 1, 2050.

The LMA operates a Public Water and Sewer collection and treatment system in the Borough of Liverpool, Perry County, Pennsylvania, under an Agreement with the Borough of Liverpool to include all related and necessary facilities in and for the Borough.

The LMA Board consists of a Board President, Vice-President, Secretary (non-voting) and three (3) voting board members. In addition, the LMA keeps on retainer an engineering firm and a solicitor to assist with operational needs.

The Board President and Vice-President are elected each year. Council members are replaced as needed. The Board is responsible for planning the future integrity of the water and sewer system, amending and enforcing the Amended Rates, Rules and Regulations of the Liverpool Municipal Authority as the need arises, and establishing water and sewer rates to sustain future system repairs and replacements. The Board also provides oversight of the current needs of the community.

The regular Board meetings are held the second Thursday of each month at 7:00 in the Borough Meeting Room at the Borough Building located at the corner of Pine and Locust Streets.
